24-25 Yearbook Sale

Yearbooks will be on sale during the lunch periods on December 17, 18 and 19 th in the Commons. Attached is an order form that will need to be completed and turned into our sales students at the table in the lunchroom.

What’s on the May 20 Ballot

Residents of the Pittsford Central School District will be voting at a new location – Calkins Road Middle School – on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, on the school district’s 2025-2026 school district budget. Here’s what’s on the ballot:  

  • Proposed budget of $168,218,102 which is within the Tax Cap and preserves current programming 
  • 3.97% budget increase 
  • 2.34% Tax levy increase 
  • Authorization to withdraw $2,419,162 from the “Capital Reserve Fund – Purchase of Buses” (savings account) 
  • Will not result in additional taxes or issuance of debt 
  • Authorization to withdraw no more than $500,000 from the “Capital Reserve Fund – Instructional Technology” (savings account) 
  • Will not result in additional taxes or issuance of debt 
  • Three Board of Education candidates are running for two seats

Change in Regents Exam Schedule for June 2025

NYS Regents has modified the spring exam schedule. Please see below for the current schedule of June exams.

June 4 - No longer an exam day. School is in session for ALL grades.

June 10 - Regents Exams. Grades 9-12 report for exams only. School is in session for grades K-8.

June 11 - Regents Exams. School in session for ALL grades.

June 17-18 - Regents Exams. Grades 9-12 report for exams only. School is in session for grades K-8.

June 20 - Regents Exams. Grades 9-12 report for exams only. School is in session for grades K-8.

June 23 and 24 - Regents Exams. Grades 9-12 report for exams only. School is in session full day for grades K-5. Grades 6-8 have half-day dismissal at 10 a.m.

June 25 - Regents Exam. Grades 9-12 report for exams only. There is no school for grades K-8.

Students Bring a World of Culture to Mendon High School

At Mendon High School’s Heritage Day on April 11, 2025, students showcased their rich heritage through eye-catching displays filled with fascinating cultural artifacts, captivating history, and deep-rooted traditions from their families’ ancestral homelands. Students and staff explored lively exhibits, engaged in traditional games, and sampled an array of native foods from around the world. Seventeen countries were represented, including Turkey, Dominican Republic, Romania, Spain, China, Sri Lanka, Latvia, Jordan, India, Philippines, Brazil, Israel, South Korea, Ireland, Jamaica, Germany, and Pakistan.

MHS Wind Ensemble Wins Gold

The Mendon High School Wind Ensemble was awarded a Gold with Distinction Rating at level 6 at the NYS School Music Association (NYSSMA) Majors on April 10, 2025. This is the highest rating possible at the highest level of music. Congratulations to the MHS Wind Ensemble and their director, Paul Maguda, for this remarkable achievement!

Join us for the April 29 Power Hour on Social Media and Cell Phone Use in School

Join us on April 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Calkins Road Middle School Commons to learn about and discuss the impact of cell phone use and social media in our schools. District and building administrators and mental health team members will share statistics, strategies and current practices around cell phone use. Panelists will share strategies for parents and guardians to use outside of school. There will be an opportunity for participants to share feedback with District administration and Board of Education members around what a distraction-free environment could look like in Pittsford.

Students Celebrate 100th Birthday of Real-Life Rosie the Riveter, Mary Masciangelo

Pittsford students had the unique opportunity to meet a real-life Rosie the Riveter as they celebrated the 100th birthday of Fairport resident Mary Masciangelo at Calkins Road Middle School on April 9, 2025. The event, organized by the school’s social studies department, honored Mrs. Masciangelo’s contributions while giving students a chance to hear her inspiring story, celebrate her many accomplishments, and present handmade birthday cards.

Mrs. Masciangelo was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal on March 21 in recognition of her work during World War II to produce critical supplies for soldiers overseas. At just 16 years old, she worked alongside other women to manufacture pins for parachutes and goggles for the Air Force, playing a vital role in the war effort...
